Peace Carnival Rally & Parade

Byron Bay  (September 2005)

Flaming Bongo’s! It’s the Samba-Blisstas! Thundering through the streets in their wild whacky costumes and riotous red rhythms, this silly syncopated street troupe will leave you sweaty and screaming for more! The Samba-Blisstas are a 20—50 piece street performance troupe led by Musical Director/ Team Builder Paul Barrett.

Modeled on South American samba rhythms with an Australian sense of larrikinism and choreographed movements , the troupe play surdo’s ( bass drums), go-go bells, cow bells, shakers, snare drums, tamborims,  quika's and  wobble boards!!

The troupe is based in Byron Bay where Paul leads weekly rehearsals and performs regularly at local Festivals, corporate and community events.
The Samba-Blisstas are loud, highly rhythmical and danceable.
They perform in colourful, circus- style costumes and head-dresses.
Look out for them, you can’t miss it!!

By the way, you can join them at their next 6 week course if your mad enough !
